Firewalk 2022

Will you walk across hot coals for the Hospice?

One of our most popular challenges is back for 2022- Firewalk!! Thursday 27th October!

Overcome your nerves and defeat your fear. The only thing holding you back is YOU!

You will amaze yourself at what you can achieve when you put your mind to it. So why not have a go at the ultimate mind over matter challenge?

You will receive an information and safety briefing from the organiser before taking part, then outside the Hospice you will go one by one across fire.

*Please note that participants must be 16 years or older.

Sponsorship

Once you have registered, it is time to fundraise!

As always, the registration fee covers the cost of the event and any additional sponsorship raised goes directly towards the vital care provided by the Hospice. It costs £7,500 to keep the Hospice running for 1 day, so every penny that you can raise is important. You may never know exactly how your support will help but you can be assured that the impact your support will have on local families who can benefit from the Hospice services at one of the most difficult and emotional times will be huge and ever so appreciated.

There are a few ways that you can raise sponsorship for Firewalk;

JustGiving

One of the easiest ways to raise sponsorship is to start your own JustGiving page for East Cheshire Hospice and share the link with your friends and family so they can sponsor you to complete the walk and make donations in memory of your lost loved one.

Host an Escape Room Party

What is an Escape Room?

An Escape room is a game in which a team of players cooperatively discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in one or more rooms in order to progress and accomplish a specific goal in a limited amount of time.

This is a fun an exciting way to get a group of friends and/or family over for a different type of gathering. Escape rooms are great party ideas that can be tied in with birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, and FUNDRAISERS!

Grab a cuppa, let’s get started…

Hosting an escape room party is a bit like organising a murder mystery night. Get your creative cap on and create a story plot that can be unveiled in one room, or continued through each room of your home, or create a different story for each room, you choose.

The primary appeal of an escape room is solving puzzles and overcoming challenges.

Step 1: Pick a theme.

Step 2: Create a story plot.

Step 3: Craft fun puzzles and challenges.

Step 4: Invite some friends and family. You could even host multiple nights, so your party doesn’t become too overcrowded.

Step 5: Raise those all-important funds for East Cheshire Hospice!

Reckon you are the next Bear Grylls?

Why not turn that weekend camping trip into a fundraiser for the East Cheshire Hospice. Get together with some family and friends and see if you have the survival skills to camp out in the woods for a night or two. • How to forage for food and water safely
  • Navigation skills
  • How to build a watertight place to sleep
  • First Aid

There are plenty of groups, organisations, and materials such and books and vlogs that will help you to prepare and build the best outdoor skills. Local Scouts and Guides groups teach these skills, additionally many schools will offer the Duke of Edinburgh Award to teach children these essential outdoors skills.
