Covid Vaccination: In caring for the most vulnerable patients, their families and loved ones, East Cheshire Hospice staff have a professional responsibility to reduce the risk of infection to others as far as possible. Getting vaccinated against diseases which can be passed person-to-person in healthcare settings is part of that responsibility and it is one of the simplest things that we can do to protect our patients.

Children & Young People’s Bereavement Counsellor

Type:

contract for services / via invoice

Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Family Support Team at East Cheshire Hospice

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be working alongside sessional counsellors and other service providers to support children in the local community who either have a close family member with a life limiting illness or have been bereaved.

  • £30 per session (1 hour)
  • Employment type:  contract for services / via invoice.
  • Anticipated demand:   1-2 days per week or sessional as required.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Membership of an appropriate professional body (for example BACP)
  • A Diploma in Counselling or equivalent
  • 2 years post qualification experience working therapeutically with Children and Young People
  • Evidence of appropriate knowledge, skills and training in the field of children and young people’s bereavement services.
  • The ability to make assessments and maintain own records and reports as required by the organisation
  • A commitment to teamwork and continuing professional development

Catering Assistant

If so, East Cheshire Hospice wants to hear from you!  We are looking for a new Catering Assistant to join our busy and dedicated catering unit which provides an excellent standard of food for patients, families, staff and events.

You’ll work as part of a tight-knit team in an exciting, fast-moving environment, assisting with the preparation of food, serving patients, employees and guests, cleaning and washing up, whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and compliance with hygiene regulations at all times.

You will support the day to day running of the kitchen to ensure we are able to provide the highest level of. Your main duties will include assisting with food preparation, serving patients, staff and volunteers and general kitchen cleaning duties.

Our ideal Kitchen Assistant will be an energetic, caring, team player with strong communication skills, the ability to adapt to change and either already have or be willing to gain food safety and health and safety knowledge.

Our team works daytime shifts within the hours of 7am – 7pm over 7 days.  You would work 1 weekend in 3.

Experience in a catering environment is desirable but not essential. This role does not involve patient care.
