East Cheshire Hospice is seeking to appoint an organised, proactive and dedicated Chef Manager. Someone who takes pride in creating fresh home cooked food, where every day is different, and your decisions directly impact the wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors.

  • Your duties will include:
  • Leading a small team of chefs and catering assistants, including planning rotas and training.
  • Manage the catering budget within prearranged parameters, reporting to the Facilities Manager.
  • Preparing and cooking meals for patients, visitors, and staff, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Ensuring meals are presented to a high standard, with a focus on both taste and nutrition.
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards in line with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, for example internal audit reports relating to patient satisfaction and procurement.
  • To take responsibility for specific projects as required including the development of catering services to external stakeholders as required.
  • Working collaboratively with clinical colleagues to adapt meals to meet patients needs.
  • To continuously seek to maintain and improve own level of skills and undertake learning and development as appropriate.

What you will need:

  • Management experience within a Catering and/or clinical setting.
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety issues.
  • Understanding of COSHH.
  • Use own initiative communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • A compassionate and caring attitude.
