As Clinical Services Manager at East Cheshire Hospice, I feel incredibly privileged to support people and families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. I began my nursing career over 25 years ago as an acute surgical nurse, gaining a strong clinical foundation, but it was my passion for palliative care that led me to join East Cheshire Hospice in 2013.
In my current role, I oversee our Inpatient Unit (IPU), Hospice at Home (H@H), Supportive, Family and Living Well Care services, dementia services, and family support services, ensuring that we consistently deliver and facilitate high-quality, compassionate, person-centred care for people living with life-limiting illnesses.
I am also the Safeguarding Lead and Caldicott Guardian, responsibilities which are central to ensuring that those we care for are protected, respected, and always treated with dignity and confidentiality.
Hospice care is about so much more than managing symptoms – it is about supporting the whole person and their loved ones – helping people live as well as possible, for as long as possible, and I am incredibly proud to be part of a team that makes such a meaningful difference every day.

Conor oversees IT, data, and security at East Cheshire Hospice. As Head of IT and a member of the Leadership Team, he ensures technology is aligned with the Hospice’s strategic aims, supporting both patients and staff through secure, modern systems.
Conor is passionate about keeping East Cheshire Hospice at the forefront of digital innovation. He champions the use of cutting-edge technologies, AI automation, and business intelligence tools to enhance services and decision-making.
He and his team undergo annual audits, including Cyber Essentials Plus, penetration testing, and the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, to safeguard Hospice data and systems. This rigorous approach helps enable the delivery of integrated, co-ordinated end-of-life care.
Conor also serves as the Hospice’s Data Protection Lead and Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), ensuring compliance with data legislation and the responsible, secure management of information.
With a degree in Computing & Networking and extensive experience in the IT sector, Conor has been part of the East Cheshire Hospice team since 2017.
People & Development Manager
Laura joined East Cheshire Hospice in February 2020 as a Senior HR Advisor. After spending much of her career in a variety of HR roles at Greater Manchester Police, followed by several standalone HR positions in private businesses, she was keen to bring her skills to a local charity with a strong reputation in the community. She was promoted to People & Development Manager in October 2021 and now leads the Workforce Team, overseeing HR, Learning & Development, and Volunteering.

Juliette spent her professional working life in the healthcare sector working for over 34 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry in a wide variety of leadership and executive roles including HR, Manufacturing and Supply Chain and Sustainability. She is an experienced trustee, with extensive experience of governance and corporate oversight, and is active in a number of trustee roles.
She lives in the Macclesfield area with her husband and has 3 adult children.

Suzan Holder is a highly respected journalist, author, and television producer with an extensive background in media and publishing. Her career has spanned regional and national platforms, showcasing her creativity and storytelling expertise. As a Patron of East Cheshire Hospice, Suzan lends her voice and influence to championing the charity’s mission. Alongside her husband Noddy, she is proud to support the Hospice’s work in the community they know and care about deeply.
Noddy Holder MBE, iconic lead singer and guitarist of the legendary rock band Slade, is internationally recognised for his distinctive voice and timeless anthems such as “Merry Xmas Everybody.” With a celebrated career spanning decades in music and entertainment, Noddy brings passion and profile to his role as a Patron of East Cheshire Hospice. He and his wife Suzan have strong ties to the local community and are committed to supporting the Hospice’s work through their advocacy and involvement.

Dr Michael R Oliver OBE DL, Chairman of Knutsford-based Oliver Valves Ltd, a company making ultra-high pressure valves for the oil and gas sector and also for hydrogen and carbon capture applications.
The business was established in 1979 in Michael’s one-car garage at his home in Hale. The original valve that he designed is still in production today with over five million examples world-wide having been delivered. The company produces over 8000 different types of valve.
Dr Oliver’s company employs 350 people in Knutsford and has offices in has offices in Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Houston Texas.
The company’s clients are all the major energy companies world-wide, including Shell, BP, Exxon and Chevron.
Michael was awarded the Order of the British Empire by the Queen at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace in 2012. He has also been a Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire since 2011 and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering for his services to Engineering in Cheshire by the University of Chester in 2013.
Michael and his wife Jennifer, support numerous charities, including East Cheshire Hospice and the Hospice at Home Scheme.
