We are very excited to introduce a brand new event for summer 2022… Hospice-to-Hospice Hike! Taking place on Saturday 2nd July 2022.

This challenging event collaborates with St Rocco’s Hospice, working jointly to reach individual Hospice fundraising goals.

The Hospice to Hospice Hike offers two challenges:

  1.  The FULL marathon hike; from St Rocco’s Hospice to East Cheshire Hospice
  2. The HALF a marathon hike; starting at The Cottons Spa and Hotel, Knutsford and finishing at East Cheshire Hospice.

The Finishing point for all East Cheshire Hospice participants will be at East Cheshire Hospice.

Is this Event for me?

Participants must be aged 16 or above. Participants aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult. This Event will require a reasonable fitness level and training to reach the mileage chosen. The Hospice-to-Hospice hike is exceptionally challenging.

Fundraising

As you know, East Cheshire Hospice depends on support from its local community to deliver its essential care.

Therefore, we suggest all participants set a target to raise £250 in sponsorship to support the Hospice. Fundraising can be done individually or jointly with friends, family, or colleagues. Fundraising is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, set goals and get you across the finish line.

Once registered, you can set up your online fundraising page on JustGiving here.

Climbing Stair Mountain!

Don’t forget to stop at the summit to admire the view!

Why not set yourself a goal to match the equivalent steps that would be required to summit some of the most famous mountains…

Ben Nevis… 1344 metres. 8736 steps to the top!

Snowden… 1085 metres. 7052 steps to the top!

Scarfell Pike… 978 metres. 6357 steps to the top!

Double all of them to come back down!

To keep you motivated why not do your steps standing in place, marching on the spot, while watching one of the many ‘virtual climbs’ of famous mountains, such as Everest Virtual Reality or watch inspiring mountain movies. Use a pedometer app to keep track of your progress.
