Wild Shore Aqua Park Delamere

East Cheshire Hospice are taking over Wild Shore Aqua Park Delamere on Friday 19th August 2022!

 

Wild Shore Aqua Park is a giant floating playground of adventure, designed to provide you with a fun, safe and an exhilarating experience. The Aqua Park provides the perfect challenge of balance and nerve for a range of ages and abilities.

Don’t worry if you think this all sounds too intimidating, Wild shore Aqua Park includes features for various standards of physical and mental ability, for every gnarly feature there is a mega fun and simple element – there is also a host of Neptune Steps, which allow easy access from the water back onto the Aqua Park.

A bit about the obstacle course:

Ninja Warrior-style features including Tire Run, Ninja-Jump and Eagles Nest along with an epic 3.8m inflatable tower; Mount Rainier.

Children must be 6 +

Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult (ratio of 1 adult to 3 children).

Children aged between 8 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult (over 18) on site (not on the activity).

Sponsorship

As you know, East Cheshire Hospice depends on support from its local community to deliver its essential care.

Therefore, we suggest all participants set a target to raise £50 in sponsorship to support the Hospice. Fundraising can be done individually or jointly with friends, family, or colleagues. Fundraising is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, set goals and get you across the finish line.

Camino De Santiago Trek 2023!

Adventure awaits… 14th – 21st October 2023

 

A once in a lifetime opportunity to trek the eighth and final section of the French Way & raise money for the Hospice

Trek through northern Spain to reach the UNESCO World heritage site of Santiago de Compostela, the final destination of the legendary, medieval Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James). Today, thousands of people know as ‘pilgrims’ walk the Camino for a number of different reasons; spiritual, cultural and adventurous. This is not a religious tour. The Camino is about the journey and to most it symbolises a time of reflection, learning and fresh starts.

Walk in the footsteps of pilgrims and spend 5 days exploring the hilly landscapes of the Galicia region of Spain.

The Challenge

This trek explores the eighth and final section of the French Way, the most traditional and best known of all the pilgrims’ ways to Santiago de Compostela. During the 115km over 5-days walk you  will traverse the hilly landscapes of Galicia, passing numerous point of cultural and historical interests along the way.

How tough is it?

The trek is graded moderate to challenging. You will be trekking long distances over varying terrain which includes some uphill sections, in varying weather conditions. You will stay in basic hotels and guesthouses.

You will be walking for many hours and sometimes on steep gradients. It is essential that you are fit enough to trek for at least 7-8 hours at a time for multiple consecutive days. Regular breaks are taken, but long days of walking are inevitable. You cannot be too fit for this challenge so you should train well before your departure.

The Cost

There is a £355 registration fee which is payable at the time of booking, then you are asked to fundraise at least £2,600 of East Cheshire Hospice. Support and fundraising ideas will be provided by staff to help you reach, and even exceed this target. Raise 80% of total by 21st July 2023 (£2,080) and the remaining 20% by 17th November 2023 (£520).

A self-funded option is also available.

Trek Sahara!

Adventure awaits… 12-19th November 2022

 

A once in a lifetime opportunity to trek the Moroccan Sahara & raise money for the Hospice

 

Our previous overseas treks have been a huge success, with the participants returning from their adventures with so many stories to tell and an enormous feeling of achievement. This year we are taking on the magnificent Moroccan Sahara!

Trek over 50km in the Moroccan Sahara and get hands on at a community project in Marrakech.

Scale sand dunes, battle scorching temperatures, camp under the stars and make a difference for East Cheshire Hospice in 2022.

The Challenge

Your trip begins with a journey across stunning Moroccan landscapes to the Sahara where you will commence two days of trekking over towering sand dunes, across vast sun-baked plains and camping each night under the starry sky. After completing your trek you will return to Marrakech  and spend two more days assisting a community project with a range of hands-on tasks such as refurbishment, decorating and gardening to make a positive impact for the local community.

The Cost

There is a £325 registration fee to pay at the time of booking to secure your place. You are then required to fundraise a minimum of £1,990 for East Cheshire Hospice. Support and fundraising ideas will be provided by staff to help you reach, and even exceed this target. A self-funded option is also available.

COVID19 Update

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have rescheduled Trek Sahara for a second time to now take place 12 – 19th November 2022. Our challengers now have lots of time to sign up and begin their fundraising! Challenge Coordinator Bethan will be able to assist with ideas and inspiration about how to fundraise in this new virtual environment. She can also answer any questions you may have about the trip and all safety measures put in place by the travel team.
