Trek the Great Wall of China for East Cheshire Hospice

East Cheshire Hospice is off to the Great Wall of China and you can join them.

This classic adventure to one of the great wonders of the world takes place between November 11 and 19 next year.

The five-day trek takes a remote route featuring stunning original sections of the wall and views of the beautiful rolling hills that surround it.

Hospice supporters are invited to walk the iconic Great Wall of China.

Walkers will stay in guest houses experiencing authentic Chinese culture and tasting incredible local cuisine.

That is followed by visits to two of Beijing’s highlights, The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

The trip is described as moderate to challenging and supporters will need a good level of general fitness.

Five to eight hours of walking will be undertaken each day. Organisers advise training in preparation, due to the high level of activity.

The trip costs £1,283 with £485 payable on registration and in instalments if required. The remaining balance of £798 is due by December 2026.

Full board and flights are included. A flexi option, with costs self-funded, is also available.

Each walker is also asked to fundraise £3,990 for the Hospice, mostly by August 2026.

The weather is usually mild and dry with daytime temperatures around 10 °C, dropping to -1°C at night.

Local English-speaking guides, with first aid training, will accompany walkers. Cooks and drivers will also be there.

Registration is open and for more details email sarah.elvin@echospice.org.uk or call the fundraising team on 01625 433477.
