Join East Cheshire Hospice on an amazing fundraising trek from 11-19th November 2026 to of the of new wonders of the world. This trek adventure is a wonderful opportunity to explore the history and culture of China while pushing yourself to new heights. You’ll have the chance to explore wonderful sites, distant views of green rolling hills, mountain peaks and visit two spectacular places, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
The Challenge
Trek 5 days along the Great Wall of China, taking in the history of remarkable feat of construction and architecture. Spanning more than 2000 years old, this 5 day trek with take you on remote routes, view some of the most scenic parts of the original sections of the wall and you’ll view the beautiful rolling hills that surround it.

Fitness: The trek is rated moderate to challenging.

The Cost
A ÂŁ485 registration fee is payable at the time booking (this can be paid in installments).
You are then asked to fundraise ÂŁ3,990 for East Cheshire Hospice.
A total of ÂŁ3,192 must be fundraised by 19th August 2026.
The remaining ÂŁ798 is due by 23rd December 2026.

Itinerary
Day 1 Wednesday 11th November – Flights from UK to Beijing (overnight flight)
Day 2 – Thursday 12th November – arrive in Beijing, check into hotel, have a group dinner and briefing on the week ahead.
Day 3 – Friday 13th November – Beijing to Gubeikou (transfer by bus to the Great Wall approx. three hours) Trekking approx. 9km
Day 4 – Saturday 14th November – Transfer from guesthouse to explore the Gubeikou section. Trekking approx.. 11km
Day 5 – Sunday 15th November – Gubeikou to Jinshanling. Trekking approx. 15.4km
Day 6 – Monday 16th November– Jinshanling to Simatai. Trekking approx. 8km
Day 7 – Tuesday 17th November – Simatai to Beijing. Half-day climb below the summit of Mt Simatai Trekking approx. 6km
Day 8 – Wednesday 18th November – Guided visits to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square and free time.
Day 9 – Thursday 19th November – Flights from Beijing to UK
