Support the Hospice with our Pie And Pint event

Enjoy the great outdoors on a countryside walk with East Cheshire Hospice on Saturday, September 27.

Walkers in a previous Pie and Pint challenge.

The Pie and Pint event starts and ends at Macclesfield Rugby Club where a lively atmosphere will greet finishers savouring well-earned refreshments.

Live music, a pub quiz, fundraising games and stalls are part of the entertainment.

Choose either a 5k or 10k route, both through Macclesfield, Prestbury and Mottram St Andrew, starting at 10 am. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Luke Hughes, the charity’s Community and Events Fundraiser, said: “Whether you’re a seasoned rambler or a weekend wanderer, this is the perfect way to support the Hospice.

“You can do the walk at your own pace. The route is well sign posted with marshals and a well-deserved pie and pint is served to over 18s at the finish line. Soft drinks are also available.”

The sign-up fee (adults £22.50 and children £17.50) only covers running costs so entrants are asked to raise at least £50 sponsorship with donations going directly to care for Hospice patients and their families.

The recipe for fundraising … a pie and a pint.

The Hospice is looking for a main sponsor and drinks sponsor for the event.

Luke said: “Sponsors will benefit from extensive promotion before and during the event, opportunities for product placement, social media exposure, and complimentary tickets to participate.

“This is an excellent chance for local businesses to demonstrate community support while gaining valuable visibility.”

Interested businesses can email luke.hughes@echospice.org.uk or call 01625 666998 for more information.
