Join us for an unforgettable evening at Capesthorne Hall as we celebrate the lives of those who mean the most to us. Starlight Walk is more than a walk – it’s a vibrant, uplifting experience filled with light, music and togetherness.
“It was my first time taking part in the Starlight Walk last year, and it was a truly beautiful, calm, and peaceful evening. It gave me the space to honour the treasured memories of those I’ve lost and to reflect on my own mortality—not in a sad way, but with a deeper appreciation for today and for every day we’re given. The walk itself was incredibly uplifting, and being surrounded by so many people who were also honouring and celebrating the lives of those they’ve lost was deeply powerful. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before, and it’s something I’ll make sure to take part in at every opportunity in the future.”

As dusk falls, wander through the stunning grounds of Capesthorne Hall, illuminated by glowing lanterns, twinkling lights and atmospheric fire pits. Along the way, you’ll discover interactive points to pause, reflect and celebrate your loved ones in meaningful ways.
Timings
6pm: Gates open – welcome to Starlight Walk – check out our amazing food, drink and fundraising stalls
6:15pm: Entertainment starts on our Starlight Stage
7:15pm: Walk begins
9:15pm: Start line closes for final lap of the route
9:45pm: Event ends
Step into the starlight – a festival of light and love
This is not just a walk – it’s a festival of light and love!
Our event village will be buzzing with live entertainment, delicious food and drink, and plenty of ways to soak up the atmosphere before and after your walk. Think music, laughter and community spirit – the perfect setting to celebrate life.
“As twilight becomes darkness, the trail becomes illuminated by a rainbow of colours. At various points along the route, stalls are set up; one where you can pause and remember with a candle or message, one where you can toast marshmallows on an open fire, and one where you can throw pebbles into the lake, the ripples quickly making memories for you.”
Dress the part!
We encourage everyone to embrace the festival vibe – glitter, glow sticks, bright colours, flower crowns… make it a night to remember!
On the route:
- Music by the fire pit – warm up by the flames as you soak in the vibes while toasting a marshmallow
- Celebration space – write a note, share a story or say a prayer with our Hospice Chaplain
- Lantern display – place your lantern along the water’s edge to create a magical illuminated pathway
- Glowsticks and bubbles – add sparkle to your walk
- Pebble drop – cast a pebble into the lake as a tribute to someone special

Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at Starlight Walk but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Stay after your walk to enjoy the festival atmosphere – or take on the route again if you’re feeling energetic!

Why We Walk
Every step you take helps East Cheshire Hospice continue providing care and support in your local community. Your entry fee covers the cost of the event, so we kindly ask everyone to raise at least £50 in sponsorship. Alternatively, you can add a £50 donation when booking your place.
