This year marks 103 years since the end of World War One and 76 years sine the end if the second World War. But there are other conflicts around the world and not a year has gone without men and women losing their lives for the freedom of present and future generations.
Today we come to pay our homage in thanksgiving for those lives have been sacrificed for our freedom and the peace we enjoy and take for granted. Today we stand in solidarity with the rest of our country in remembering those who have died in serving the King, Queen and country in the Great World War and other wars until now.
Today we stand in solidarity with those whom we knew, and whose memory we treasure; and all who have lived and died in the service of humanity. Today we remember those lost, those bereaved, and those who continue to suffer the consequences of war and fighting.
Today we stand in solidarity to work for peace and reconciliation between nations that all mankind may live in freedom, justice and peace. We are all losers in any war, nobody wins.
