Hospice Stories

Volunteer Sue Cook has a unique connection to East Cheshire Hospice. Her younger sister Jill Potts was the Hospice’s first female patient.
After his shock MND diagnosis, Brian didn’t know what to expect from a hospice. What he found was warmth, understanding and a community providing support and genuine connection.
My husband died in East Cheshire Hospice in 2022. I remain ever thankful and in awe of the wonderful work of the Hospice.
My wife died in East Cheshire Hospice in 2022 following a long battle with lung cancer. The care at the Hospice was exceptional for both her and myself. This is a message for anybody who gets asked to go a Walk and Talk counselling course.
Alan was able to benefit from many of our Sunflower Living Well Centre services, as well as respite care, and his wife Linda also received support throughout his journey.
When Shane Bloor was able to go home for his final few days with the help of Hospice @Home, it meant the world to him and his family.
