Used car dealers Chrome Motors are going the extra mile to help East Cheshire Hospice.
The Macclesfield-based family business will donate £100 to the charity for every car bought or sold.
Six customers have already taken part in the new fundraising campaign set up by owners Danny and Natalie Towns.
The husband and wife established the firm selling and purchasing used vehicles 23 years ago.
Danny and Natalie Towns, owners of Chrome Motors.
Danny said: “The donation doesn’t come out of the price we give to the client – it comes out of our margin.
“We’re donating £100 to the Hospice as a gesture of good faith both from us and as a thank you to the customer for considering selling their car locally rather than nationally.
“The offer applies to cars part-exchanged, buyers who may not have a car to sell and customers who just want to sell us their vehicle.
“The only requirement is they’re from the Hospice catchment area.”
Chrome Motors are long-standing supporters of the Hospice and sponsor sports teams.
Danny said: “We have an affiliation with the Hospice. It’s a fabulous cause and many people benefit from its services.
“We both respect and acknowledge how much it costs each day to keep the charity running and think it’s very important to Macclesfield. It’s an easy one for us to support.”
The company is one of only 52 highly rated by Auto Trader for eight successive years since the car advertiser began its accreditation scheme covering more than 14,000 dealers.
Danny said: “I delighted by that news – the used car market is a tough business.
“Online car buying sites make our job very difficult, but our prices are more favourable and the figure quoted doesn’t deviate.
“We’ll travel to customers if they prefer, or they can buy from our premises on Brook Street. This fundraising scheme will last indefinitely.”
Dean Mottershead, from Macclesfield, was one of the customers who took advantage of the offer.
Dean, an estate planner, sold his late father’s white Vauxhall Mokka to Chrome Motors.
Dean said: “I chose Chrome because of their Hospice offer – I’m a long-standing supporter of the charity and feel passionately about it.
“I saw a Chrome banner in town which tempted me to go to speak to them. What lovely people they are and when I found they’ll donate £100 to the Hospice I said I’ll go nowhere else.
