Corporate Fundraising

Corporate Fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice

Corporate fundraising is a powerful way to bring your team together while making a real difference in your community. It can motivate staff, spark creativity, strengthen communication, and build a sense of teamwork and loyalty across your organisation.

There are many ways your business can get involved. From joining our Business Club or setting up payroll giving, to taking part in a challenge or sponsoring one of our events, corporate fundraising supports your employees as well as our patients and their families. However you choose to take part, your support helps us provide compassionate care when it is needed most.

If you would like to explore how your business can get involved, we would love to hear from you.

Other ways to support East Cheshire Hospice with your business:

Payroll giving is a simple, tax-efficient way to support East Cheshire Hospice directly through your salary. It allows you to make regular donations while benefiting from tax relief.

How it works:

  • You choose an amount to donate from your salary each month.
  • The donation is taken before tax, reducing the cost to you.
  • This means East Cheshire Hospice receives your full donation, and you pay less overall.

How to start your payroll giving

Step 1: Sign up with a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA)
  • Choose an HMRC-approved PGA from www.gov.uk/payroll-giving and complete their registration form. The PGA will validate your employees’ chosen charities and distribute the donations.
  • PGAs typically charge an admin fee (up to 4%), deducted from donations unless you opt to cover it, ensuring 100% of donations reach the charities.
Step 2: Promote your payroll giving scheme
  • Raise awareness among staff about payroll giving and its benefits for charities like East Cheshire Hospice.
  • Use emails, social media, intranet ads, flyers, posters, or host an event (in person or online).
  • For ideas, advice, or materials, contact: fundraising@echospice.org.uk
Step 3: Get everyone on board
  • Engage senior management, HR, and payroll early to highlight the benefits of payroll giving for East Cheshire Hospice. Most payroll systems can support it with minimal setup—your payroll team simply processes deductions and sends donations to the payroll giving agency.
Step 4: Sign up time
  • All your employees need to do now is sign up. Simply ask them to download the form below, fill it out, and then send these to your payroll department.
Step 5: The giving begins
  • Now you’re set up for payroll giving and your employees have signed up to the scheme, East Cheshire Hospice will start to receive your donations. Your participating employees’ payslips will display their donation alongside any other deductions they have signed up to.

The idea is very simple – wear a stylish, funny, wacky Christmas jumper to work, school, or even just at home, and make a donation to East Cheshire Hospice!

Just a small donation for wearing your festive woollies can go a long way here at the Hospice.

You can either choose the national Christmas Jumper Day, or choose your own date to fit in with your Christmas festivities.

One of the most popular ways to support East Cheshire Hospice is by taking on a challenge and raising sponsorship.

Your challenge can be anything that pushes you out of your comfort zone and really puts you and your colleagues to the test. Whether it demands determination, teamwork or a bit of bravery, if it challenges you, it is worth celebrating.

Let us know what you are planning and we will help spread the word, because every challenge you take on is something to be proud of.

To make getting involved even easier, we have partnered with Run For Charity and Ultra Challenge. Together, they offer a wide range of events throughout the year, across the country. This means you can find the perfect challenge for you and your colleagues, while raising vital funds to support East Cheshire Hospice.

Visit the Run For Charity and Ultra Challenge websites to start your challenge journey.

We have some great opportunities for employees to volunteer with us, including gardening, Hospice maintenance, leaflet drops and support at our events.

Our volunteering activities can also be tailored with bespoke ideas to suit your company’s needs, interests and objectives.

Taking part in volunteering can boost team spirit and engagement, while sparing just a few hours can make a real difference to our patients both at the Hospice and in our community.
