A sunshine cruise will keep Tim Lane away from the next Christmas tree collection, though his family will still be there.
While Tim celebrates his 65th birthday in warmer climes, daughter Dawn and partner Darren will volunteer on January 10 and 11.
The Tytherington family have been represented at the East Cheshire Hospice event for the last 15 years, with Tim joined by younger son Jordan initially.

When he left for New York five years ago, Tim kept up the family tradition and was joined by Dawn.
Tim said: “Volunteers from Ansa Environmental Services often drove and knew the locations well, while we hopped in and out of the van picking up trees.
“For the first time I’m going to have to miss the collection as my wife Karen and I are treating ourselves to a California cruise, but I know it’ll be in safe hands and I’ll be back in 2027.
“The collection means the world to our family and is a huge part of the end of our Christmas season.
“I spend most of my time on a screen behind a desk at my recruitment company so it’s nice to get outdoors and do something physical.
“It blows away the cobwebs after Christmas and raises money and awareness for the Hospice.
