The final tally for the latest Christmas tree collection has brought even better news for East Cheshire Hospice.
Last month’s campaign raised more than £170,000, an increase of £10,000 on the 2025 total.
The rise was due to a larger average donation of £18 for each tree.
More than 200 volunteers helped across the weekend, collecting 7,049 trees from an incredible total of 6,873 houses.
Some 41 vans were involved in the operation, co-ordinated once again by scheme co-founders Richard Raymond and Pete Chapman.
Every penny raised goes directly to Hospice care thanks to the support of sponsors.
The tree collection has raised almost £2.2m since it began 26 years ago.
