Diversity Statement:

We are passionate about creating a workplace that reflects the communities we serve, that promotes and values diversity and where everyone feels empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work. However, we know that there is a lot to learn and do, and we are committed to doing so because it’s the right thing to do for both our workforce and the people we care for. No person (staff, volunteer, patient or public) will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of the nine protected characteristics as governed by the Equality Act 2010 regardless of race or ethnicity, age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy and maternity. We also believe in taking an intersectional look at equality and ensuring we support our staff, volunteers, patients and members of the public taking into account our role in equity and health inequalities. To support an inclusive environment where individuals feel empowered to share experiences and ideas, we have encouraged the creation of a variety of forums including our ECH Staff Forum, LGBTQ+ champions, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Pastoral Support for all.
