East Cheshire Hospice is based in Macclesfield and supports patients with life limiting illnesses and their families. Our mission is “to provide the highest quality of care and support to the people we serve”.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Fundraising to join our Income Generation team. Primarily, this new role will have direct responsibility for growing and managing our Individual Giving income streams within the Fundraising team, but will also have managerial responsibility for the Corporate, Community & Events income streams. The role will provide leadership and support to motivate and inspire team members to drive income.

The role will also play a crucial part in contributing to the success of the wider organisation, representing fundraising at the Heads of Service meetings.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in fundraising in the charity/not for profit sector, managerial experience, a proven record of meeting and exceeding targets and KPI’s, and excellent communication skills.

What you will need:

Experience of working in fundraising in the charity / not for profit sector.
Management/team leader experience.
Experience in delivering information to a variety of audiences of different sizes.
Proven experience of meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs.
Experience of using Raisers Edge or a similar Fundraising database.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to create sustainable relationships.
Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Office.
Confidence in public speaking.
An innovative and imaginative approach to your work.
To be achievement orientated.
Commitment to working with others as part of a team.
To be able to build relationships of trust with colleagues, volunteers, supporters, fundraisers, servicer users and other stakeholders.
An ability to take responsibility for own personal development and be proactive in keeping abreast of the fundraising sector.

This role requires some evenings and weekend work with notice, for which time off in lieu will be given.  Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate must be a car owner and/or have the ability to travel independently within the Hospice catchment area.
