If you’d like to volunteer for the Hospice, we’d love you to join the team in our brand new Poynton shop!
We are currently refurbishing a large three story site in Poynton which will become our fourth shop, a stylish outlet with high quality clothing and furniture for sale. We’re really excited about it, and hope that you’d like to be a part of the team. Our shops are great places to volunteer for three reasons:
1. You’ll be a part of a warm and friendly team, with our manager Emma Lloyd to support your work, it’s always busy, there’s always something going on and we promise your shifts (3-4 hours, morning or afternoon), will fly by!
2. You’ll be raising valuable funds for East Cheshire Hospice – each time you come in for your shift, you’ll be raising money that mean we can give patients and their families the very best end of life care.
3. You’re raising the profile of East Cheshire Hospice – our shops are a great way to be a part of our communities, and we’d love you to play your part too.
If you’d like to know more, please email Emma at email@example.com, call her on 01625 409647 or complete an application form here www.eastcheshirehospice.org.uk/support/volunteer-with-us/apply-online
If you’d like to volunteer in the Hospice itself, we’re looking for new members of our gardening team. It takes a lot of weeding, landscaping and mowing to keep the Hospice looking good for our patients and their families, and if you’d like to help out please complete the relevant form below, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01625 610364.

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and committed people who enjoy dealing with members of the public and being part of a team. The Hospice is a caring organisation, and you’ll be joining a team of volunteers who often deal with people at a difficult time in their lives. We take donations with great sensitivity and treat our customers with warmth, gratitude and support, as well as providing a professional and efficient retail service and being an important part of funding the Hospice.
Full training and support will be given by our staff and volunteers.Application form
Hours:A couple of hours a week
Location:East Cheshire Hospice
Here at the Hospice we have some lovely grounds and gardens, but they require plenty of TLC to keep them in shape and a calming, picturesque and serene atmosphere for our patients and staff.
We need several gardeners to help for just a few hours a week on Wednesday mornings, usually starting from about 9am. Basic gardening skills are adequate and tasks include keeping the grounds neat & tidy, pruning, planting bedding plants etc.
Any other necessary training and support will be provided.

Fundraising Support Group Member
Support Groups are friendly teams of local people who work together to raise funds for the Hospice through organising bake sales, events, coffee mornings, distributing collection boxes – the ideas are endless!
The group can consist of two people or one hundred people and roles can vary within the group, such as Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Volunteers. You will be supported every step of the way by your contact at the Hospice and is a great way of getting involved in the local community, meet new friends and learn new hobbies.
Our companions help to deliver amazing care for people in the early stages of dementia as well as giving their carers a few hours break. We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy the company of others; can have a good laugh as well as being caring and compassionate. You don’t need to have had any previous experience of working with people with dementia but a willingness to learn is essential. You will be matched up with a person of similar interests for a couple of hours per week or per fortnight. No personal care is involved, and full support will be given to you throughout training and volunteering, so you can concentrate on enjoying making a real difference to the life of the person and their carer.
