More Good Days

Every day, the Sunflower Living Well Centre at East Cheshire Hospice helps people living with a life-limiting illness find comfort, connection and confidence. It also supports families and carers as they navigate some of life’s most challenging moments.

This summer, we’re inviting you to help create More Good Days for local people by supporting our Appeal – helping people to live well, with the support they need.

Linda and Jean’s Story

When Linda and Jean’s husbands, Alan and David, were diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses, both families were facing an uncertain future. Through the Sunflower Living Well Centre, Alan and David found specialist guidance, social connection and renewed confidence. Linda and Jean also found practical and emotional support and an unexpected friendship that continues today.

“The Hospice wrapped itself around us like a big hug.” Jean

The centre helped their husbands look forward to enjoyable days and live well for as long as possible. It also provided therapy, counselling and support, helping Linda and Jean cope during some of life’s most difficult times, as they cared for and then navigated the loss of their loved ones.

“I always say, they taught him to live whilst he was dying.” Linda
