Dog Photoshoot

The race is on to find East Cheshire’s top dog.

An unique competition to identify the prettiest pooch  in the county has just been launched by East Cheshire Hospice who want to use the canine cutie in a high profile summer poster campaign.

As Marketing Manager  Rachel Allcock explains , “The poster campaign will be to publicise our first ever Tough Woofer event and we need a real doggie superstar to help us do that”.

“We’re looking for a dog with real character, not necessarily the perfect pooch,” she adds.

The 5k “Tough Woofer” event will feature 15 different mud, water and climbing obstacles similar to its Tough Mudder relation but will be specially designed for pooches and their owners. As it’s the first time such an event has been held in Macclesfield, an extensive PR campaign is being planned over the summer.

“Photos of the winning dog will go up on billboards all over the town so it’s a great opportunity for one special dog to have its day,” says Rachel.

Entries for the photo shoot competition are now open and the judging will be chaired by an, as yet, unannounced celebrity. The closing date for entries is May 1. The winning dog will take part in a professional photoshoot with his or her owner in June before the posters go up in July.

Entries for the photo competition should be sent to toughwoofer@echospice.org.uk

Tough Woofer will take place in the grounds of Capesthorne Hall on September 30 and is expected to attract hundreds of entries. Details are available at www.eastcheshirehospice.org.uk/toughwoofer
