Adlington Hall Tearoom Takeover 3rd July

Adlington Hall Tearoom Takeover is back this year!

Join us every Sunday* throughout June, July and August at Adlington Hall to enjoy a slice of cake and a tea/coffee. All money raised goes to East Cheshire Hospice.

*Except for 24th July due to an event being held at Adlington Hall

Starting date Sunday 12th June!

Road Closure

There is a road closure in place which will cut off vehicle access to Adlington Hall from the A523 London Road junction at the Legh Arms. Access is unaffected from the Bonis Hall & Lees Lane junction to Mill Lane. There is a diversion in place from the A523 in Poynton via Park Lane, and also via the A523 Bonis Hall Lane junction which is the route we recommend.

Recipe Swap

Are you and your buddies always competing with who makes the best cake, or Sunday dinner or even the best mojito on the weekend? Do you want to turn your creative skills into a fundraiser for the East Cheshire Hospice? Then we have the challenge for you!

Set you, your friends and family the challenge of creating something new in the kitchen every week for a month… Or two! Pick a new theme each week such as…

  • Roast dinner
  • Pie
  • Chilli Con Carne
  • Birthday cake
  • Cheesecake
  • Or even cocktails!

Vote for your favourite recipe (you can’t pick your) and you will have a winner every week! The winner could share their recipe for everyone to enjoy their creation. Ask for donations to be part of the competition or to buy a portion of the culinary master pieces each week.

This can become a regular fundraiser or a one-off recipe swap sensation!

How do I start fundraising?

The best way to collect sponsorship would be to take cash on the day of the event. We have plenty of collection buckets and pots you can use for your event, please see contact details below of how to get in touch with us.

If you want to keep your donations online, start by setting up your Just Giving page here and follow the simple step-by-step process to creating your fundraising page. Make sure to fill in the details about your recipe swap fundraiser, set yourself a fundraising target, share your page with friends and family on social media, email, WhatsApp, text… And away you go!

Taking on this challenge and raising sponsorship for East Cheshire Hospice really will make a difference to local people and their families who are cared for here. The Hospice has to raise over 80% of its running costs from voluntary donation and fundraising, this equates to over £7,500 every single day. Your contribution really will make a difference.

If you would like any advice or if you have any questions at all please contact the Challenge Coordinator Bethan Wade on bwade@echospice.org.uk or call 01625 665691.

Come Dine With Me Tournament

Ever fancied taking part in ‘Come Dine with Me’?

Why not organise your own come dine with me experience for you and some friends, family or colleagues?

At the beginning of the challenge week each person taking part puts £5 or £10 into a pot that will become the winner’s prize at the end of the week, and each pledge to raise a suggested amount of £100 for us here at the East Cheshire Hospice.

Take it in turns to each host a dinner party cooking a yummy 3-course dinner and providing some fun evening entertainment. After each night, you will all anonymously rate your host’s evening and put the scores into an envelope.

At the end of the week, each person opens the envelope from their evening and counts their total score. Who ever has the highest score is the WINNER!!

This is not only a great fundraising idea, but this can also be a different way to team build and get to know people better.
