East Cheshire Hospice Will Week 2013

When is it? 13th - 17th May 2013 Why do it?
Having a valid and up-to-date will is really important. Without it, anything you leave behind may not end up where you would have wanted it to be. How does it work? During Will Week, local participating solicitors will not charge their fee to write a STANDARD will, and you can support the Hospice by making a donation. The cost of writing a will varies between solicitors’ firms and the amount you donate is up to you; last year the average donation was around £80. The solicitors kindly offer their services free to raise funds for the Hospice through your donations. What do I do next?
If you would like to have your will written as part of our Will Week event this year, please click on the PDF symbol below to view the list of solicitors taking part this year, and contact one of them to make an appointment during Will Week. Most appointments take place at the solicitors offices, although some firms are prepared to visit you at home so please ask. Please also note that you may have to return to/visit the solicitor to sign your Will. |

Your solicitor appointment
When you attend your appointment, the solicitor will take your instructions for a STANDARD will. If your needs are more complex – for example, if your will includes setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney or a Trust – the solicitor will explain to you that this may require an additional charge. You will still be able to make a donation to the Hospice for the standard part of your will.
How does the money come to the Hospice?
Solicitors taking part in Will Week will provide you with a donation envelope which you can use to send a cash or cheque donation, completing the details on the front of the envelope as fully as possible. If you are eligible for Gift Aid (which allows the Hospice to claim an extra 25% on your donation from the Government), please tick the relevant box. the envelope will be sent by the solicitor to the Hospice at the end of Will Week.
